OSRC examines implications of Japa Syndrome on human capital development

The spate at which Nigerians emigrate in search of greener pasture is a contentious debate with its attendant brain-drain effect on the country.

Japa which literally connotes ‘to leave for good” continues to elicit diverse opinions with many seeing it as a way of giving up on Nigeria in preference for other nations.

In a reversal of judgement, others say, it is a move if properly managed could improve the economic status of the country.
