The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has presented certificates of return to winner of Saturday’s election in Ondo state, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and the Deputy Governor-elect, lucky Aiyedatiwa.
INEC Chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu who was represented by the National Commissioner in Charge of Ondo, Ogun and Lagos states, Dr Adekunle Ogunmola presented the certificates to the governor-elect and his deputy at the Commission’s headquarter in Akure.
Prof Yakubu thanked the people of Ondo state for their support which led to the success of the commission in Saturday’s election.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Rufus Akeju sought the people’s support on the use of technology to deepen the nation’s democratic process.
Responding, The Govenor Elect, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu thanked all party leader and members for their efforts and dedicated the victory to the people of Ondo state.
He described his victory as God’s project and promised to continue work for everybody irrespective of who they voted for in Saturday’s election.
Wife of Ondo state Governor, Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu, Wife of the Deputy Governor-elect, Oluwaseun Esther Aiyedatiwa, Speaker of the Ondo state House of Assembly, Bamidele Oleyelogun, other party leaders and top government functionaries were at the event.
