Driver of the late, Mrs olufunke olakunrin, daughter of Afenifere leader pa Ruben fasoranti today told the court in akure, how his boss, was killed by suspected kidnappers on July 12, 2019 along shagamu ore road.
During cross examination by the director of public prosecution, Leonard ologun who stood in for the attorney general and commissioner for justice, Charlse Titiloye the witness Omotayo olorundare said he had been driving the late Olakunrin since 2016.
He said on July 12, 2019 while driving the deceased to Lagos on the fateful day, they heard sound of gunshot around toll gate in ore which forced him and three other occupants of the vehicle to flee into the bush leaving the late Olakunrin in the car.
He said on getting back to the main road after the incident, he didn’t meet his boss in the car but was told by a man that she was shot by suspected kidnappers and had been taken to a hospital in ore by the Police.
The witness told the court that all attempt to maneuver the vehicle from the scene proved which forced him and three other occupants to scamper for safety.
The driver is the third witness called by the prosecution team.
Justice William Olamide has adjourned the trial till February seven and eight for further hearing.
The lead prosecutor, Leonard Ologun and counsel to of the defendants, Obafemi Bawa spoke after the proceeding.
