ODSG commences distribution of agric inputs to Farmers

Ondo state Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has flagged off the distribution of agricultural inputs for this year’s farming season to usher in bountiful harvest for all farmers in Ondo state.

Flagging off the distribution at Fiwasaye girls Grammar school, Governor Aiyedatiwa said his administration will continue to partner and encourage investors to support farmers with inputs and facilities during this planting season.

Cocoa and shade tree seedlings were distributed to farmers and subsidized for their use.

The 2024 annual flag off ceremony exposed farmers to the opportunities available to them on varieties of crops, livestock, planting materials and trainings on good agricultural practices.

Governor Aiyedatiwa during the flag off of the 2024 cropping season said his administration will continue to fund agricultural intervention programs that will enhance farmers productivity.

Represented by his deputy, Dr Olayide Adelami, he reiterated his government’s commitment to rehabilitation of rural access roads and also continue to create enabling environment for farmers in the state.

He stressed that government will not relent in releasing grants to relevant agencies as a mark of support to agricultural associations calling on well meaning individuals to take advantage of the state’s friendliness to invest.

The Governor warned land grabbers against encroaching forest reserves in the state.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Forestry, Mr. Olayato Aribo applauded Governor Aiyedatiwa for his agricultural programmes geared towards protecting and equipping farmers.

Highpoint of the event include song rendition, cultural display and inspection of farm inputs and seedlings for the planting season.
