Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure have clawed their way back into the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Super Six following a 1-1 draw with Bendel Insurance of Benin.

Sunshine Stars had goalkeeper Mustapha Lawal to thank for making the scoreline 1-0 on 38 minutes as he denied Imade Osarenkhoe a chance to score, in a one-on-one situation.

Ekerette Udoh drew Sunshine Stars level in the 63rd minute to breathe more life into the late encounter at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena.

Awosanmi Promise failed to make Oge Emmanuel’s effort count for Sunshine after he failed to convert a well tailored cross.

With two matches completed, Enyimba International of Aba and Rivers United top the table with four points.

They are followed by Remo Stars and Bendel Insurance with two each.

Sunshine Stars and Lobi Stars of Makurdi have one point each.
