Naval Officer Killing: Alani Calls for Calm

The Alani of Idoani Oba (Dr) Olufemi Olutoye has called for calm and utmost restraint in the recent unfortunate incident involving the cold blooded murder of a navy personnel by three misguided youngsters.

Based on the maturity and professional experience of His Royal Majesty he directed that the Council of Chiefs should immediately rise to the occasion and engage in dialogue with the Naval Officers and their personnel.

Following this directive, the Olisa of Idoani High Chief Akinola Olisa who is the next to Kabiyesi led the Council of Chiefs on a condolence visit to The Nigeria Navy School Imeri.

The team was received by Navy Commander B D Odu and his top Management team where the community promised to help the Nigeria Police in fishing out perpetrators of the heinous crime. Pronto ,the Police and the community was able to aid in the arrest of two remaining errant boys.

Today, Wednesday 28th June 2023 was supposed to be Idoani’s market day but owing to the incident and the need to arrest a fleeing collaborator in the murderous act, the market did not hold as naval personnel were in town.

This led to panic and fear but upon further dialogue with the Naval Officers, the personnel were withdrawn and peace has since returned to the town.

Arising from this incident, His Royal Majesty has therefore called for calm and extreme caution in the handling of the post incident affair in such a manner that rules of engagement is strictly adhered to in a civil order.

He also warned against overheating the polity with unfounded reportage.
