Akure-Ado Ekiti highway is a federal road that has been in a deplorable condition for a long time. Following the collapse of the highway, travellers now drive through longer routes to get their various destinations. Worried by the continued neglect of the road, Akure north communities youth presidents coalition staged a protest on the highway in the early hours of yesterday causing traffic gridlock . OSRC’s Joy Pius was at the scene and reports that the protesters issued 21 day ultimatum to the federal government to move machineries to site.
