Court dismisses injunction by 15 ‘political parties’ to stop Saturday’s Ondo Council Polls

An attempt by 15 political parties to stall Saturday’s Local Government Elections in Ondo State has met a brickwall after the State High Court sitting in Akure refused their interlocutory injunction seeking to stop the exercise.

Justice Adegboyega Adebusoye refused the application on the grounds that it will breach Section 58 of the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission, ODIEC laws.

OSRC’s Shola Ilesanmi reports that the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Adekola Olawoye described the parties as busy bodies with no genuine grounds to stall the election.
