Mr. Peter Nwachukwu, husband of late popular gospel singer, Osinachi, was on Friday arraigned before a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The suspect, who was brought on a 23-count charge bordering on culpable homicide, was subsequently ordered to be remanded at the Kuje prison.
When the 23-count charge bordering on domestic violence and homicide, among others, brought against him by the office of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) were read to Nwachukwu by the court clerk and his plea was taken, he pleaded not guilty to all.
Justice Ngozi Nwosu-Iheme, in a ruling, ordered that the suspect be kept in custody until the conclusion of his trial.
The judge, who okayed accelerated hearing of the case, adjourned till June 16 from 12pm and June 17 by 9am for trial.
Justice Nwosu-Iheme said: “The business for today is for arraignment, accelerated hearing is hereby ordered.”
Mrs Nwachukwu, Osinachi, died on April 8 and many of her colleagues had accused her husband of subjecting the her to domestic violence, leading to her death.
