Armed Forces Day: Aiyedatiwa urges support, prayers for Military personnel , widows of fallen heroes

Security operatives and political leaders have been charged on acknowledging the supernatural strength of God to overcome various security and political challenges facing the country.

The Chairman Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, Ondo state, Bishop Joshua Opayinka gave the charge during the state church service in commemoration of the 2024 Armed Forces and Remembrance Day at the Chapel of Grace Government House Alagbaka , Akure.

Bishop Opayinka while speaking on the topic “Supernatural Strength” from 2 Samuel 22:40 and Philippians 4:13 enjoined the military to carry out their responsibilities of protecting the territorial integrity of the nation with the supernatural strength.

The Bishop noted that supernatural strength was beyond physical and mental prowess encouraging them to seek God’s wisdom in their daily affairs.

Addressing the congregation on behalf of other security agencies, the commander, 32 Artillery Brigade, Akure, Major General Mohammed Adamu represented by the Commanding Officer, Forward Operating Base, Igbokoda, Navy Captain Wasuku Alushi gave an assurance that the military would not relent in discharging its duties.

On his part, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa pledged continued support to security operatives and asked Nigerians to always pray for the military and para military personnel .

Among those present at the solemn but colourful service were family members of the fallen heroes as well past and serving political appointees in the state.

Special prayers were offered for the state governor, the entire cabinet, security agencies, fallen heroes and their families, legionnaires and the nation in general.
