Honourable Minister for Youth Development, Comrade Olawande Emmanuel Ayodele has lifted all restrictions on NYSC posting. The Minister, in a directive dated 18th November, 2024 said the new posting instruction was in-line with the mandate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure that all government Ministries, Agencies, and Parastatals operate in tandem with the overall vision of the administration.

The Minister stated that the President is concerned with the rate of youth unemployment and has charged all stakeholders to ensure that young graduates garner the requisite experiences and job training to prepare them for immediate employment.

Olawande, who said he was aware of the existing posting policy which was initiated during the tenure of one of his predecessors, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi; said the restriction of posting to Education, Agriculture, Infrastructure and Health sectors was justifiable at that time because many private sector organizations were no longer employing because of the easy access to cheap corps labour.

The Minister, who acknowledged that the reality is now different, directed the revocation of all previous directives and the introduction of a new posting policy.

The new policy, which would come into effect at the commencement of the 2024 Batch “C” Orientation Course, contained the following directives:

a. Lifting of all restrictions on postings

b. Posting of corps members to, as much as practicable, be in line with their course of study.

c. Posting of corps members to selected banks and other private sector organizations, including those operating in oil and gas, to re-commence.
