OSRC’s Adeluwoye bags Sports Presenter of the year award

Olumide Okeowo Adeluwoye, a Staff of the Ondo State Radiovision Corporation, (OSRC) has bagged “Best Sports Presenter” of the year award.

The award, which is sponsored by Nigerian Radio Award (NRA), is aimed at celebrating and recognizing “On Air Personalities” (OAPs) across Nigeria for their creativity, innovation, hard work and excellence in the Radio Media Industry.

Over 130 OAPs across the country for two months participated in a rigorous voting process in 26 awards category between
October 26 and November 30, 2023.

Olumide Adeluwoye, who is a Sport Reporter & Presenter with both the radio (Orange 94.5FM) and television (OSRC TV) of the OSRC Media Group put in for the “BEST SPORTS PRESENTER” award category.

He won the category ,polling 3,197 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Godwin Ikebudeh of Sports Radio Brilla FM who polled 2,126 votes.

The Award presentation in Abuja was well attended by distinguished OAPs across the country, captain of Industries among others

In his Welcome Speech, the Co-founder of Nigerian Radio Award, Isaiah Nta, said the event was organised to mainly celebrate OAPs who has tirelessly work, serving and keeping the public glued to their radio set.

“NRA was birthed to celebrate OAPs across the Country meanwhile before Social Media came on board, Radio Media was very wide and consumed by a lot of people.

“So the radio media does not actually discriminate hence the Nigerian Radio Award was set up to celebrate the media and his On Air Personalities”

While receiving the “Best Sports Presenter” of the year award, Adeluwoye appreciated the Organisers for the opportunity to participate in the contest as well as Ondo State Radiovision Corporation, (OSRC Media Group) for giving him the platform to explore his potentials.

Adeluwoye said with the seamless supports of his department bosses, colleagues, friends and families which counted tremendously well till the last seconds of the voting process, was vital to winning the award.

“What I do daily is to inform the public on what is at the scene of sports across the World, most especially, local contents in Nigeria, ranging from Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Athletics, Basketball, Volleyball among others.

“I feel very elated and soo happy, getting to this point is no joke, because I enjoyed tremendous support of the top management, my bosses and colleagues at OSRC Media Group, Friends, Families, most especially my Co-presenter of Sports, Gbenga Oluwajana, whom we’ve working together over the years and is great privilege to win this award.

“I dedicate this award to all Sport Writers Association of Nigeria, (SWAN) most especially SWAN ONDO STATE CHAPTER for always going out of their comfort towards bring the public to speed on latest stories in the World of Sport.

” A big thanks to the Organisers of the Nigerian Radio Award partnered by the Federal Government, this award will spur me to continue to work harder and be more productive in service to the people,”he said.
