One million households to get free food from Ondo government

The Ondo state government has promised to distribute food items to one million households across the state as part of measures to alleviate the sufferings occasioned by fuel subsidy removal in the country.

Chairman of the Ondo state palliative committee and commissioner for finance in the state, Wale Akinteriwa said this while rolling out measures put in place by the state government to cushion the effects of subsidy removal on residents of the state, particularly civil servants and students.

The government also approved the introduction of free transportation for workers from and their houses and offices.

The move, according to government, is to reduce the aftermath of fuel subsidy removal on the workers.

Students across the state will also enjoy free transportation with the resuscitation of free school shuttle buses.
