Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has won Saturday’s governorship election in Ondo state. Akeredolu was declared winner by the election’s returning officer and the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Prof Abel Idowu Olayinka, after polling 292,830 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Eyitayo Jegede with over 97,000 votes. OSRC’s Shola Ilesanmi reports that the state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Rufus Akeju said Akeredolu and the Deputy Governor-elect, Lucky Aiyedatiwa will get their certificate of return on Tuesday.
