Ondo state government has ordered those taking refuge under the flyover in Ore, Odigbo local government area to vacate or risk prosecution.
Traders who have turned pedestrian bridges and walkways across the state to trading points are also ordered to vacate immediately.
The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Akeredolu on special duties and strategies, Dr Doyin Odebowale, said government frowns at how some beggars and suspected hoodlums are terrorizing innocent citizens and passersby under the bridge.
He added that the continued occupation of the place compromises the security of motorists and other commuters who use the flyover, threatens security of the community and also defaces the aesthetic value of the area.
The governor’s aide also added that such act endangers the strength and infrastructure of the bridge, a huge investment targeted at improving traffic and general well-being in that axis of the state.
Odebowale said Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has directed his special task force to commence clearing of the bridge and other parts of the state illegally turned to trading points effective from Thurdsay, 29th April, 2021.
“The task force has been directed to arrest and prosecute any offender contravening this instruction”, he said.
