Ondo State House of Assembly has commenced the 2022 budget defence for Ministries, Departments and Agencies in the state.
The budget proposal of 384.5 billion tagged ” Budget of Economic Resilience was presented to the legislature by the Acting Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa
The Ministry of Information, Ondo State RadioVision Cooperation, owners of OSRC, Orange 94.5 FM and Sunshine 96.5FM Alalaye, among other MDAs defended their spending proposals while others will appear as scheduled.
Mr. Oladiji explained that the budget is aimed at fastracking socio-economic development and building on the progress achieved over the years.
While thanking the Acting Governor, Mr. Aiyedatiwa for the presentation of the budget, the speaker enjoined the committee on Finance and Appropriation to carefully scrutinise every report and also sought the cooperation of MDAs.
Earlier in his opening remarks, the Chairman of the Committee, Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi assured that the defence would ensure proper budgetary provisions to relevant MDAs in line with government’s thinking.
Thereafter the defence session started where MDAs told the Lawmakers what they intend to achieve in 2022.
Reacting shortly after the defence, some chief executives including the commissioner for Infrastructure, Lands & Housing, Ramiu Aminu described the exercise as fruitful.
Other MDAs’ executives who also spoke with newsmen, promised to work in tandem with government polices and programmes in the coming year.
