Adherence to extant laws regulating spending by political parties and candidates in election will significantly help to reduce electoral malpractices, deepen good governance and democracy. This was the thrust of a capacity workshop on campaign finance monitoring and election observation held in Akure for journalists and election observers organised by a non-governmental organization, Justice Development and Peace Makers’ Center, JDPMC, Osogbo. OSRC’s Shola Ilesanmi reports that the organization has also developed a mobile application to track campaign expenses and vote buying during the Ondo October 10 governorship election.
