ODSG Reviews curfew imposition on Ikare-Akoko over communal crisis

The Ondo State Executive Council has relaxed the 24hours curfew in Ikare Akoko, Akoko North East local government area following the communal clash in the ancient town.

The curfew has now been relaxed to 12hrs from 6 o’clock in the morning to 6 o’clock in the evening.

This means that residents can go about their official businesses from 6am to 6pm.

Briefing government house correspondents after the first Ondo State executive council meeting of year 2023, the state commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mrs Bamidele Ademola – Olateju said council also directed that no one should now parade himself as the Olokoja of Okoja or Okoja chiefs while a committee has been set up to look into the immediate and remote causes of the crisis.
