ODHA directs Chief Judge to set up panel to investigate allegations against Deputy Governor

The Ondo State House of Assembly has Directed the Chief Judge of Ondo State to constitute a panel of inquiry to investigate alleged allegation of Gross Misconduct levelled against the Deputy Governor, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

The move followed the Legislative step taken by the House to write the Deputy Governor over the allegation during a plenary headed by the Speaker, Olamide Oladiji.

The House of Assembly had served the Deputy Governor a notice over the allegation of Gross Misconduct.

And Following this legislative move, the House insisted that no stone would be left unturned in the process of investigating the allegation.

While moving a motion for the Constitution of the Panel, the Majority Leader, Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi noted that the move is in line with the Nigeria Constitution 1999 as amended and the motion was seconded by the Lawmaker representing Ifedore State Constituency, Tope Komolafe.

The Speaker, Olamide Oladiji who said it is imperative to investigate any matter of allegation in line with the constitution maintained that the House will continue to follow due process in its operations.

Oladiji therefore directed the Chief Judge of Ondo State, Justice Olusegun Odusola to set up a Seven-Man Panel of inquiry to investigate the Allegations against the Deputy Governor.

Also during the Plenary, the bill for a law to amend the Ondo State Assembly Service Commission Law, 2021 was committed to the Committee on Human Capital having scaled through second reading.
