INEC announces election results in 12 LGAs, to reconvene by 9am

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has so far announced results of twelve local government areas in the ondo state governorship election held yesterday with the All Progressives Congress, APC, winning nine.

The collation officers for each local government area tool turn to reel off the number of votes recorded by political parties in the election.

According to the electoral body, In Ifedore local government area, The All Progressives Congress, APC, polled nine thousand, three hundred and fifty votes while the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP recorded eleven thousand, eight hundred and fifty-two votes, just as the Zenith Labour Party got one thousand, eight hundred and sixty-three votes and the Young Progressives Party, YPP, polled 10 votes.

The results for ile-Oluji /Òkè-Igbó Local Government area indicate that the All Progressives Congress, APC recorded thirteen thousand, two hundred and seventy-eight votes as against the nine thousand, two hundred and thirty-one votes of the peoples democratic party, PDP, the one thousand, nine hundred and seventy one votes of the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP and the six votes of the Young Progressives Party, YPP.

The APC also won Ìrèlè local government area with twelve thousand, six hundred and forty-three votes with the PDP recording five thousand, four hundred and ninety-three votes while the ZLP polled five thousand, nine hundred and four votes and the YPP got thirty-five votes.

Other local government areas won by the APC include Akoko Northeast, Akoko Southwest, Akoko Northwest, àkókò Southeast, ondo East, owó, and idanre.

The Peoples Democratic Party, also registered victory in three local government areas in the results so far declared while the ZLP has not yet recorded any win in the election.
