A coalition of Bishops, pastors and other Christian groups seemed to have ignored the directive of the Christian Association of Nigeria on the same faith ticket for the 2023 presidential election as many of the clergymen attended the unveiling of senator Kashim Shettima as the running mate of Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress APC in Abuja.
The Bishops and pastors in there numbers converged at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua conference center dressed in their cassocks.
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has on the heels of Shettima’s nomination,, vehimently condemned the choice of Muslim-Muslim ticket as insensitive to the ethno-religion diversity of Nigeria.
The body had issued an official statement rejecting selection of Kashim Shettima as the running mate to Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
One of the Bishops who spoke to journalists said that they were at the event to declare their support for Tinubu-Shettima presidential ticket!
