How many more must die before insecurity end in Nigeria?

These were the words of the Bishop, Catholic Diocese of Oyo, Emmanuel Badejo at the funeral mass for the victims of Saint Francis Catholic Church attack in Owo, ondo State.

Badejo in his homily on the occasion decried the ceaseless killing of innocent Nigerians by those he called agents of darkness.

He said the brutal murder of children men and women who were simply worshipping their God in Owo was the height of inhumanity in the country adding that the perpetrators committed grievous crime against God and humanity.

While commending Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and other leaders who are speaking against insecurity and activities of those threatnung the peace and unity of the country, Bishop Badejo challenged Nigerian leaders to be alive to their responsibility of protecting Nigerians.

Again he asked, “How many more must die before insecurity ends?”even as he urged Nigerians to raise their voices against killings, violent crimes and unabated bloodshed in the country.

The cleric aslo called for the review of the security architecture and repositioning of security agencies for effective performance.

Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, former governor Mimiko, top govenment functionaries, Members of the Christain Association of Nigeria, members of the Owo Muslim community, Olowo-in-council are all attending the funeral mass.
