Don’t let your strike ground government activities, Ondo HOS begs labour unions

We note with concern the ongoing strike action called by the Labour Leadership across the country particularly as it affects Ondo State.

While we are not averse to the right of the union to exercise their right to protest against perceived unwanted policies, it is our wish that the protest should be given a human face so as not to ground government business.

We appreciate the NLC and TUC for emphasizing that the protest is not targeted at the Ondo State Government based on the Government/Labour harmonious relationship and the gains achieved so far.

Based on this, we wish to enjoin labour to remain civil and peaceful such that critical business of government can go on during this protest. Workers, particularly senior ones who may wish to render their services should not be hindered in the overall interest of the state.

Rest assured, that the Akeredolu administration remains committed to workers’ welfare as ever.
