The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control twitted at 09.32pm on Sunday.

It said that 120 of the total 232 confirmed coronavirus cases in Nigeria were recorded in Lagos.

NCDC tweeted, “As of 09:30 pm on the 5th of April, there are 232 confirmed cases of #COVID-19 reported in Nigeria. 33 have been discharged with five deaths.

“For a breakdown of cases by state, Lagos has 120, FCT- 47, Osun- 20, Oyo- nine, Edo- nine, Bauchi- six, Akwa Ibom- five, Kaduna- five, Ogun – four, Enugu – two, Ekiti – two, Rivers – one, Benue – one and Ondo- one.”

Meanwhile, Lagos also announced its second coronavirus-related death on Sunday.

The Lagos Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, made the announcement via his Twitter handle.

He said the second case, 36-year-old Nigerian man, died on Saturday in a private facility.

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, tweeted that five patients receiving treatment at the Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba, were discharged on Sunday.

He said, “Dear Lagosians, yesterday (Saturday) I announced the discharge of one more patient from our Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba.

“Today, I am happy to inform you that five more patients comprising two males and three females including a 10-year-old girl have tested negative twice to #COVID-19.

“These five patients have been discharged to reunite with their families. This brings to a total of 29, the number of patients who have fully recovered and have been discharged from our facility at Yaba.”
