The Ondo State Government has returned 13 non-residents of the state, who claimed to be displaced illegal miners in Osun state and smuggled into the state by a haulage truck to their base in Ilesa.
The illegal miners of northern extraction alongside the driver of the haulage truck were apprehended by some vigilant residents at the FUTA South gate axis in Akure and handed over to the state TaskForce on COVID-19.
Shola Ilesanmi reports that the TaskForce vowed to henceforth impound any truck that smuggles non-residents into the state during this COVID-19 period.
