No fewer than 150 inmates serving in the four facilities of the Nigerian Correctional Service in Ondo state have regained freedom in the last three years under the prerogative of mercy initiative.
The latest benevolence to 29 persons amidst the raging COVID-19 pandemic has been described as a further demonstration of the government’s commitment to decongestion of Correctional Service facilities in line with global trends.
