The Ondo state 2020 governorship Election Petitions Tribunal has dismissed the petitions filled by the Action Alliance, AA and All Peoples Party, APP against the victory of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in the October 10 election.
Justice Umar Abubarkar led tribunal struck out the petitions during the pre-trial stage for non-compliance to 2010 electoral act as amended.
The petitioners were said not to have filled the applications for pre-hearing session on time nor responded to Akeredolu’s lawyers motions.
This means that the tribunal is now left with the petition of the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate.
The Tribunal has adjourned till next week Thursday for consideration and preparation of pre-trial report and mode of sitting while hearing proper is expected to begin on January 11 2021.
Speaking to OSRC after the Tribunal sitting, The Deputy Governor-Elect, Lucky Aiyedatiwa expressed optimism that the remaining petition will also be dismissed in due course
