The current hike in price of cement in the country continues to worry stakeholders in Ondo State who believe that the trend should not have surfaced at this time that many Nigerians are homeless.

A survey conducted by OSRC in Akure, the state capital shows that the commodity now sells between 3,500 and 3,800 naira as against the 2,500 that a bag of the item was being sold some weeks ago.

OSRC’s Richard Ilesanmi reports that some stakeholders blamed the situation on hoarding of the commodity by some retailers.
