Ondo State House Assembly has confirmed the appointment of caretaker committees for the 18 local governments and 33 Local council development areas of the state.
The confirmation was sequel to the submission and consideration of report by the house committee on selection headed by the Speaker, Olamide Oladiji at plenary, who had earlier screened appointees.
Their names were contained in a letter which had been sent to the house by the State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for the consideration of the interim management nominees.
Presenting the report, the Deputy Speaker, Abayomi Akinruntan said apart from being grassroots politicians, the nominees have the experience to attract development to the areas.
The Majority leader of the house, Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi then moved a motion for the confirmation.
After a voice vote by the lawmakers, the speaker Olamide confirmed the appointees.
The Speaker charged them to shun all forms of corruption, be dedicated to services and bring development to their areas and the state at large.
Speaking on behalf of the Caretaker Committees, Jimoh Adebayo of Ondo North East LCDA, Ekpe, who thanked governor Oluwarotimi for giving them the opportunity to serve and house for doing it with sincerity, promised to pilot the affairs of the local government areas to grater heights.
51 persons were confirmed as Caretaker Chairmen while 51 too as Vice.
