The Chairman, Ondo State Inter-Ministerial Committee on COVID-19 and Commissioner for Health, Dr. Wahab Adegbenro, said the capacity of the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital (UNIMEDITH) laboratory would be strengthened to be able to start test for COVID-19.
He also revealed that incentives for front line healthcare workers in the treatment and isolation centers in the state had been approved by the state governor, just as insurance scheme for the health officials was also being worked out.
Adegbenro during a press briefing with Government House Correspondent after a meeting with Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, explained that the testing for COVID-19 at the facility in Ondo City would start very soon.
According to the Commissioner, all these are being put in place to encourage the state health workers to discharge their duties effectively.
