Osun State Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abidemi Akinyode Oyewusi, on Tuesday, reiterated his commitment to the leadership of the National Forum of Ife North Students, (NAFINS) led by the National President, Com. Aduragbemi Samuel.
The Deputy Speaker spoke in Osogbo during an interactive session with the leadership of NAFINS.
Rt. Hon. Oyewusi while addressing the students appreciated them for their efforts before, during, and after his election into the state house of assembly.
He commended the student leaders for their doggedness, dedication, and determination toward his victory at the poll.
The Deputy Speaker urged the student body to cooperate with him and pursue peace, unity, and love among other student associations in Ife North. This is the only way to deliver all our campaign promises to the students.
“We are here today to celebrate our victory as a local government for being privileged to hold the office of the Deputy Speaker. Any of you who could be here in the future.”
We must use this position to bring development to our local government. The issue of bursary, empowerment, scholarship, health care facilities, NAFINS office, and most importantly, construction of Akinlalu and other roads in Ife North will be urgently attended to.
His statement reads, “I am happy to receive you in my office today. I sincerely appreciate you all for your doggedness, dedication, and determination toward my victory at the poll.”
“I am here by the grace of God and any of you could be here tomorrow. Hence, my being here is for all irrespective of party affiliations, religion, age, or class. We are one in Ife North.”
“We have campaigned and promised our people effective and better representation. The time is now to give back to them.”
“I seek your cooperation and urge you to ensure that unity, love, and peace reign within your association and other student bodies in Ife North”
“With the guidance of God and the yearnings of our people, I will work to protect your interests and needs; bursary, empowerment, scholarship, health care facilities, and most importantly, construction of Akinlalu and other roads in Ife North.”
Reacting, Com. Ogungbemi Kazeem( Alausa) who spoke on behalf of the student body expressed his gratitude to the Deputy Speaker for prioritizing the concerns of the students.
Mr. Ogungbemi, therefore admonished Rt. Hon. Oyewusi to ensure that students and the people of Ife North enjoy the dividends of democracy in his administration.
He pledged that NAFINS leadership will continue to support the Deputy Speaker to deliver on all his promises to the people of Ife North and Osun State.
