The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ondo State Council, wishes to express its sympathy with the Management and staff of the Ondo State Radiovision Corporation, OSRC, over the fire incident that gutted the administrative wing of the office complex.
We were shocked that the fire incident occured at this critical time when the main building of the Corporation is undergoing major upgrading of facilities and re-organization. The Union is however grateful to God that no human casualty was involved and the operational equipment at three studios: OSRC TV, Orange FM, and Alalaye FM, were not affected by the fire incident and subsequently back on air.
We also commend the Federal Fire Service, the State Fire Service, The Nigerian Police and the DSS for their quick interventions, which greatly reduce the impact of the inferno.
The leadership of our Union has however paid an unscheduled visit to OSRC Headquarters to register our sympathy and solidarise with our colleagues at the station.
Ondo NUJ encourages Staff and the Management led by the Chairman and Chief Executive of OSRC Media Group, Mr. Kunle Adebayo, not to be deterred by the fire incident, but continue with the on-going innovations and re-organization of the three stations in order to serve the public better.
E-signed: Leke Adegbite State Chairman
Olaoluwa Meshack State Secretary.
