The Labour Party has submitted the name of Doyin Okupe as Peter Obi’s running mate.
Okupe’s name was submitted as part of the plan to beat the Friday June 17 deadline given by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to political parties for the submission of vice-presidential nominees.
Doyin Okupe served in the administration of former President, Olusegun Obasanjo as Special Adviser on Media and as Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs in the government of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
He took a shot at the 2023 Presidential race recently before announcing his intention to withdraw.
