Importers Association of Nigeria (IMAN) has bemoaned activities of some Nigerians aiding foreign individuals to import fake and substandard goods in to the country.
The Association after its investigations listed Onitsha, Lagos, Ibadan, and Edo and cities in Nigeria as major dumping grounds for substandard tyres imported into the country.
Accordingly, the Association fumed at the acts of these
dubious foreign nationals who are bent on infiltrating the markets with fake products through the aid of some unscrupulous Nigerians.
National President of IMAN, Kinsley Chikezie,through one igwe John Ezeona disclosed this in Onitsha, Anambra State while reacting to growing substandard tyres in the country and its effects to lives of citizens.
He regretted that the substandard tyres contributed mostly to the accidents on nation’s roads, warning that the body would soon raid the Onitsha Kamange warehouse.
