Òndó state governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu says the sacrifices of Nigeria’s heroes past especially those who fought to protect the territorial integrity of the nation must not go in vain.
At the parade and laying of wreath which climaxed activities marking the 2022 Armed Forces Remembrance Day in Àkúré, governor Akeredolu restated the commitment of his administration to promoting the welfare of families and widows of the fallen heroes.
The governor who applauded the military for its services to the country reassured residents of the state of his resolve to sustain efforts at securing them.
Government house correspondent, Wahab Bankole reports that the event was attended by top government functionaries, lawmakers, members of the judiciary, royal fathers as well as serving and retired military officers.
