The remains of the former Director of News and Current Affairs, OSRC TV, Miss Adenike Thompson have been laid to rest at the St. Mark’s Anglican Church Cemetery, GRA, Owo.

The late Adenike Thompson’s funeral service which was attended by her former colleagues at OSRC TV, journalists across the state and workers of the Ondo state microcredit agency was one which made all have a sober reflection.

Mary Adenike Thompson who was the Public Relations Officer of the Diocese of Owo Anglican Communion during her lifetime was eulogised by the lord bishop of Owo Anglican diocese, Rt. Rev. Ayodeji Fagbemi during his sermon, where he admonished humans to steer clear of acts that could make them lose their abode in the kingdom of God.

Fagbemi charged everyone at the funeral to lead an exemplary life to enable them have a good record before God.

Old students of Christ School, Adoekiti, 1973-1977 set who were her classmates rendered a hymn during the service.

Speaking at the graveside, the son of the deceased, Adebola Adejuyigbe, described his mother as a virtuous woman.

Mrs Mojisola Afolabi, who is the deceased’s sister said she lived her whole life fulfilling her passion, which is broadcasting.

Some of her colleagues at OSRC TV, Mr Sanni Ibrahim and Alhaji Ismail Akinkunmi described the late Nike Thompson as a caring person who took everyone as her family.

The Head of News and Current Affairs, Orange FM, Mr Akinwumi Abodunde said the late ace broadcaster lived her life for the promotion of broadcasting.

Born on the 31st of August, 1963 to the family of late Pa S. O Thompson of Uloro quarters in Owo local government, late Mary Adenike Thompson departed for the great beyond on the 13th of April, 2019.

Her body was later committed to mother earth at the Cemetery of the St. Mark’s Anglican Church Cemetery, GRA, Owo.
