Olusegun Agagu Foundation has presented a cheque of two million naira scholarship endowment fund to Adekunle Ajasin University, Akunga- Akoko.
The state commissioner for education, Dr Femi Agagu presented the cheque on behalf of the foundation to the vice chancellor of the institution Professor Igbekele Ajibefun .
The Olusegun Agagu Foundation which was initiated in 2008 at the late governor’s 60th birthday is aimed at supporting students who have demonstrated a commitment to excellence as well as possesses the vigour to forge ahead with their education in spite of financial limitations.
The state commissioner for education, Dr Femi Agagu while presenting the cheque to the management of AAUA charged the recipients of the scholarship to use it judiciously.
According to him, the opportunity will spur other students to do more.
The vice chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin university, Prof Igbekele Ajibefun while receiving the cheque said this will be of immense benefit to the students.
He however called on well meaning individuals to emulate the foundation’s humanitarian gesture in raising the standard of education sector.
Some loyalists of the ex -governor including the chairman State Universal Basic Education Board SUBEB, Princess Oladunni Odu and Hon victor Olabintan commended the foundation for sustaining the legacy of the late governor.
The scholarship endowment fund is expected to cater for outstanding students at all levels in the institution..
