OSRC resumes transmission 10.30am today.
The resuscitated Ondo state broadcasting corporation OSRC TV resumes transmission today with a Live Broadcast of the swearing in of the newly appointed permanent secretaries in Ondo state.
This was revealed by the Chairman of the management committee of the corporation, Kunle Adebayo in a chat with newsmen at the Governors office Alagbaka yesterday
Addressing waiting newsmen after he emerged from the state executive council chambers where he had gone to brief the Governor on the level of the station’s preparedness, Adebayo said the station will commence test transmission by 10.30am today and later beam live the swearing in of the newly appointed permanent secretaries in Ondo state by 12.30pm.
According to him, the live coverage of the swearing in is an evidence of the confidence the station has in its newly acquired equipment and its personnel.
“I came here to brief Mr Governor with the situation report of our resumption protocols. This is routine and necessary. As you know the task of revamping the station started about eight months ago”.
Adebayo said though his ream was pained to see the extreme state of dilapidation of equipment and infrastructure of the place when it took over, nevertheless far reaching reforms were introduced to invite change.
“I have also come here to thank the Governor for his confidence, support and inspiration. Let me tell you, it was one hell of a rough but interesting time. Our hearts nearly broke by what we saw, but Mr. Governor’s strength of mind and fortitude sustained our courage”.
He said his management was moved by the concerns and frustrations of the public over the plight of the nation’s star station in the last eight months and commended the public for its perseverance, understanding and faith.
“We are proud of what we have been able to do with our colleagues who have been retained as staff of the Station. This was the reason we are on a comprehensive people to people sensitisation drive to thank our viewers physically and also narrate to them the experiences and current state of OSRC as well as its future plans and capabilities. We think we owe our viewers a debt of explanation and gratitude and we are satisfied and very grateful for the enthusiasm, warmth and confidence demonstrated towards us”.
The Chairman said the choice of today (30th November 2017) for the commencement of transmission was clearly thought out and strategic.
“We chose Thursday 30th of November deliberately knowing that Friday is public holiday thereby giving our viewers the opportunity to enjoy our transmission over the long weekend”.
