Ondo state government says its on top of the thunder strike which killed some cows in Ijare, Ifedore local government area during the weekend.

The Senior special assistant to governor akeredolu on security matters, alhaji jimoh Dojumo who described the incident as an act of God, said the government has held a meeting between security agencies and leadership of miyetti Allah.

During the weekend, 36 cows were struck to death by thunderstorm on a sacred hill, Oke-Owa in Ijare community of Ifedore local government area.

In the same vein, 21 cows belonging to a herdsmen  identified as Malam Nature Mere in Lafia east local government area, Nassarawa state, were struck dead during a downpour last week.

Speaking on this development, the Senior special assistant to governor akeredolu on security matters, alhaji jimoh Dojumo said government is on top of the situation and has held a meeting with security agencies and leadership of miyetti Allah to this end.

He enjoined to residents of the council area and state in general to go about their daily activities as the issue will be resolved amicably.

On the legal point view, a legal practitioner Mr Joshua Sebiotiomo said in law court such an act is termed an act of God that can’t be questioned.

The state police image maker , femi Joseph said who said the police is on top of the situation urged residents not to be apprehensive of any attack.
